Why did I decide to chronicle Annabel's adventures?
That's a good question, and one I thought you might enjoy learning the answer to. But, I'm only giving a small part of the answer here. The rest you'll learn as you read Annabel Tooke and the Mindspin Machine. We all learn lessons as we go through life, beginning almost at birth. The question is, "How well do we put those lessons into practice when we need them?" I've seen some people put them to use very effectively and others fail miserably. Really, it's the people who understand what they've learned in life, and then know how to effectively apply that knowledge, who "win" in life. Annabel knows this. You will find, as she lives through the week of her quest, that situation after situation arise that challenge Annabel, both mentally and physically. The proof of her worth and her character is shown in how she met those challenges. The realities of the world we live in today mean that you may encounter some of the same difficult situations she did. Hopefully, seeing how Annabel met her challenges will enable you to meet yours. Finally, I want to say this. Critical thinking skills are becoming more and more valuable in our very competitive society. Fully understanding a problem and getting a firm grasp on possible ways to solve it may be the most important skill you ever develop. You'll see, as you read through Annabel's adventures, how she uses hers. I hope you enjoy reading Annabel Tooke and the Mindspin Machine as much as I enjoyed writing it.
