First, a few comments. The document is 350 pages and 62 chapters. That may seem somewhat long, but it really isn't. Just take your time with it and don't exhaust yourself reading. My planet doesn't have television, so we relish having a nice, engrossing book to read. (We also don't have the internet. I envy you in that regard.)
The chronicled events occurred about three years ago. The year on Terra was 2002. On Lorrendar, it was 11967. In terms of civilization and technology, 11967 on Lorrendar is about equivalent to Terra's 1830. (Think about time and how it's actually recorded and it'll start to make sense.)
In most instances, Lorrendar terms have been converted to Terra terms. For instance, dealing with distance, ferens were converted to miles. If you're interested, 8.3 ferens are about the same as 1 mile. You are, of course, already familiar with this type of conversion. An example is that on Terra you use both kilometers and miles as measures of distance.
If you are a purist, the story may be offered at some time in the future using the Lorrendar terms of distance, force, weight, etc. It depends on if there are enough requests for it.
